Summary

Orphaned。 Trained to fight。 Raised to fear the power of Underhill。 Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me。

I’m still just Alli, aka the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time。 It only took me my whole 24 years。

But when Underhill—the ancestral home of the fae—shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it。

A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing。

A brutal madness spreads through the fae as they lose their connection to Underhill, and to save my people, my only choice is to leave all I have fought for and go on the run。

Unless I figure out how the hell magic that has existed since the dawn of time was destroyed with a single touch, well, an entire life spent fighting to prove myself isn’t going to mean anything at all。

I must find the answer to the riddle of Underhill’s shattering。

Hunted by the very man I loved once upon a time。

Low key readI liked the idea of Underhill disappearing, and the whole thing covered up。 I anticipated her father acknowledging her and Adair being the bad guy from the beginning。 Some parts in this book seemed forced。

A Court of Honey and Ash is the first book in Shannon Mayer and Kelly St。 Clare's new series and I am loving it!!! The Oracle has done something or someone used that particular moment to break the fae world。。。their place of magic。 Now, Allie has to be on the run because the Queen wants to punish someone for what has happened。 But Allie won't be alone!! I love that her best friend, Cinth is coming with her。 They are such good friends and I love that they are sticking together。 So often, authors write the character going off on their own and gathering friends along the way so I am ecstatic that this is a nice change from the usual troupe。 These two authors write so seamlessly together。 There are only brief moments of where I could tell who was writing。 This book is so good and had me page-turning all the way through。 I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars。 I need the next book。 Like now。 Right now right now。 LOL! If you are a fan of these two authors then you're not going to want to miss out on this fun fantasy novel。 。。。more

Seamlessly Brilliant!!This book will hook you in fast, and won't let go。 Fun and intriguing characters with truly outstanding world building。 Never a dull moment。 The MC Alli has a hang up or two, pushes herself beyond the beyond, and just wants to be part of her world rather than apart from it。 Her ethics and moral compass are true, and it's clear the world has plans for her completely out of her control。 You would never guess two authors worked together to create this cohesive world and seamle Seamlessly Brilliant!!This book will hook you in fast, and won't let go。 Fun and intriguing characters with truly outstanding world building。 Never a dull moment。 The MC Alli has a hang up or two, pushes herself beyond the beyond, and just wants to be part of her world rather than apart from it。 Her ethics and moral compass are true, and it's clear the world has plans for her completely out of her control。 You would never guess two authors worked together to create this cohesive world and seamless story。 I'm so looking forward to the next books in the series。 。。。more

I was certainly intrigued by the title。。。and then I saw all the five-star reviews I decided to hop into it。 And I'm not going to lie I definitely have some side-eye about them because this book is hands down not good。It was billed as a novel that SJM/JLA/Holly Black fans will love and that there is a forbidden romance。 If you were expecting any type of romance then you'll be massively disappointed, the main character and her "love interest" (who is more of her abuser than boyfriend) speak maybe I was certainly intrigued by the title。。。and then I saw all the five-star reviews I decided to hop into it。 And I'm not going to lie I definitely have some side-eye about them because this book is hands down not good。It was billed as a novel that SJM/JLA/Holly Black fans will love and that there is a forbidden romance。 If you were expecting any type of romance then you'll be massively disappointed, the main character and her "love interest" (who is more of her abuser than boyfriend) speak maybe four times。 This is certainly a case of we are told they love each other rather than being shown they are in love。 There is zero chemistry between the couple。 So if you expected the SJM/JLA spice then sorry it's not there whatsoever。This book is CHEUGY。 The characters are 24-years-old, the same age as me, and the way they talk makes my skin crawl。 it's so "YAS QUEEN SLAY GIRL BOSS" energy。 Very much millennial live, laugh, love energy。 Every time the best friends spoke to one another made me cringe so hard。Why? Well, I couldn't help but feel that the book was massively misogynistic, slut shamy and fatphobic。 The best friend is described as only caring about "fucking and food", she's described as mid to plus-sized BUT all the boys love her because her "boobs and ass jiggle"。 Yes, the only thing I know about this character is that she has big boobs。 CRINGE!!!The end of the book had me rolling my eyes so hard。 I won't be continuing this series and I was going to DNF several times。 However, I believed these five-star reviews that promised the ending was incredible。 That the romance was incredible。 That this book was good。When you receive an ARC you are responsible to give a fair and honest review and I really feel like that was not honoured with this novel。 。。。more

What a ride!!Kallik is an amazing character, even more amazing because she was brought to fruition by two separate but equally epic minds! Kallik has grown up in an orphanage and because of this she is now required to fight for a position in the fae community。 The book starts at the end of her 8 years of training where she is put through a three prong test to prove what “tier” she will enter the fae world as。 Think of this a lot like the shadowspell academy trials but a lot more condensed。 Of co What a ride!!Kallik is an amazing character, even more amazing because she was brought to fruition by two separate but equally epic minds! Her very best friend in the world Hyacinth joins her in her quest to find the truth。 She did not have to go to underhill to train so she is a very awkward companion to have on the roads but that just makes her even better! Her part at the end pulled at my heartstrings。 I am absolutely loving this meld of minds and cannot wait until the next book comes out。 。。。more
